Wk 8: Slamming the boards

Slamming the boards seems very intersting and I think it is a nice way of advertising your library service. I found that some of the questions asked did not have any depth in them and it is not worth trying to answer these questions. Answering the down to earth questions is worth while.

Answer board will work well with the younger generations; the gens X.Y.Z will enjoy exploring these facilities. They are not afraid of technology and are able to cope well with the constant changes. My observation of signatures and tag lines by the librarians was that they were promoting the local library and libraries in general.

Well, it has been quite educational and hopefully I will be able to use them sometime.

I agree, participating in Slamming the Boards is a good way to remind people of the great information services available in libraries. I suspect that the demographic that really use answer boards a lot might not be the same people who use their local public library.
